Additional Information

Luffy is a simple minded guy that just wants to become the King of the Pirates. The problem with that, for most people, is that it's a near-impossible feat unless you are the strongest, wealthiest and most influential person on the face of the planet. Most people are laughed at, especially if you're a nobody, if you go about spouting that sort of nonsense. But Luffy is head strong, determined and funny to boot, in his quest to find the legendary treasure "One Piece" and become the Pirate King of the Grand Line.

Luffy has eaten the "Gomu Gomu no Mi" (Rubber Fruit) and can stretch his body like rubber. Every part of his body, even down to his innards and veins. He went through vigorous training as a child, and is SUPER STRONG. He'll barrel down any opponent with sheer will power and force, and wins almost all of his battles. Two opponents he has yet to win against (both Logia-type users): Captain Smoker and Admiral Ao Kiji. I think AoKiji is a Logia-type... but whatever.

He has a colorful crew of demonically strong and incredibly useful characters. Three of them, including Luffy, have the powers of the Devil Fruit. Chopper is their doctor, who ate the "hito hito no mi" (human fruit) so he is a cross of human and reindeer. Robin is their ship's archeologist who ate the "hana hana no mi" (blooming fruit) and can sprout any part of her body anywhere - mostly her hands. The rest of the crew are all very strong and talented in their own ways, not really needing the power of a devil fruit to hold their ground.
